Rep. Monica De La Cruz, representing Texas’ 15th district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, shared updates on her recent activities and initiatives through a series of tweets this week.
On June 20, Rep. De La Cruz tweeted about joining the USDA Tick Riders along the Rio Grande to help prevent tick-borne illnesses. She highlighted her legislative efforts with the Cattle Fever Tick Eradication Program Enhancement Act aimed at protecting Texas agriculture and maintaining healthy livestock.
The following day, June 21, she announced an important development for South Texas: the establishment of a sterile fly facility at Moore Air Base. The facility is expected to play a significant role in combating New World Screwworm threats, as noted during an event attended by USDA Secretary Rollins.
In another update on June 22, Rep. De La Cruz informed constituents about upcoming staff mobile office hours in Wilson County on June 23rd and Live Oak County on June 30th. These sessions are intended to assist those needing help with federal agencies, providing contact information for further support.
Born in Brownsville, Texas in 1974 and currently residing in McAllen, Monica De La Cruz graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a BBS degree.
