Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz of Texas’ 15th district hosted a Congressional Record Ceremony in Seguin, honoring several Guadalupe County residents for their contributions to the community.

“I was humbled to present each honoree from Guadalupe County with their official Congressional Record. As a Congresswoman, it is an honor to have the opportunity to share Texans’ inspiring stories on the House Floor, ensuring their legacies are forever part of our nation’s history. Thank you to everyone from the community who joined us for this special event,” said Congresswoman De La Cruz during the ceremony.

The event recognized local individuals and organizations, including Seguin’s Burnt Bean Company for being listed in the First Texas Michelin Guide, Corporal Bill Schroeder for his retirement after 22 years with the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s office, former Commissioner Greg Seidenberger for his national service and 12 years as Guadalupe County Commissioner, Dr. James C. Lee of Seguin for his life and community service, Seguin City Councilwoman Sonia Mendez, and U.S. Navy WWII veteran Mr. Charlie Willmann on his 100th birthday.

Monica De La Cruz has represented Texas’ 15th district in Congress since replacing Vicente Gonzalez in 2023 (https://www.house.gov/representatives). She secured her seat by defeating Michelle Vallejo in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections.
