This week, Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz from Texas’ 15th district joined Emilia Sykes, co-chair of the Bipartisan Women’s Caucus (BWC), for a visit to Akron, Ohio. The visit included a tour of the Food Farmacy at Akron Children’s Hospital and discussions on the BWC’s priorities for the 119th Congress.

The Food Farmacy, launched in 2023, provides healthy food options for patients and staff. During their visit, De La Cruz and Sykes discussed bipartisan efforts to address food insecurity and expand nutrition access for American families.

The day concluded with a tour of the National First Ladies Library and Museum in Canton, Ohio. This museum highlights American history through the perspectives of America’s First Ladies. The BWC is focusing on initiatives during the 119th Congress to create a lasting legacy honoring women who have shaped history. This includes efforts to establish the American Women’s History Museum.
