Rep. Monica De La Cruz, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 15th district, has shared several updates on her social media platform regarding local economic developments and accountability initiatives. De La Cruz, who succeeded Vicente Gonzalez in 2023, continues to focus on supporting small businesses and community growth within Hidalgo County.

On March 20, 2025, Rep. De La Cruz expressed her support for small businesses that received grants from the Mission Economic Development Corporation’s Ruby Red Venture Build Mission Fund. She stated: “Congratulations to all the small businesses who received grants from @MissionEDC’s Ruby Red Venture Build Mission Fund! My team is here to support small business growth and economic development throughout Hidalgo County.”

Later that day, she posted a brief statement highlighting accountability with a visual representation: “This is what accountability looks like”

In another update on March 20, Rep. De La Cruz celebrated the growth of downtown McAllen by congratulating Snappix Photography on their ribbon-cutting ceremony: “Downtown @CityofMcAllen continues to grow! Congratulations to Snappix Photography on their ribbon cutting.”
