U.S. Representative Monica De La Cruz, who serves Texas’ 15th district in Congress, announced the passage of her seventh bill in the House, the HUD Transparency Act, through a series of posts on December 3, 2025.
In her first message that day, De La Cruz stated: “My 7th bill passed in the House: The HUD Transparency Act! Read more: https://t.co/esZJwrUYsy” (posted at 20:13 UTC).
Later the same day, she acknowledged support from colleagues following the bill’s passage. “We passed H.R. 225 – the HUD Transparency Act! Thank you, @GOPMajorityWhip and @SteveScalise, for the congratulatory treats.” (posted at 22:00 UTC).
Addressing broader housing concerns relevant to her district and beyond, De La Cruz also promoted another legislative effort aimed at improving access to homeownership. She wrote: “Housing affordability is top of mind for South Texans, especially for young families. My Housing Affordability Act will update outdated loan limits to increase the housing supply nationwide and help more families achieve their dream of owning a home!” (posted at 22:23 UTC).
De La Cruz has represented Texas’ 15th district since replacing Vicente Gonzalez in 2023. She secured her seat by defeating Michelle Vallejo in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections.
