On March 4, 2025, Rep. De La Cruz expressed optimism about a meeting with former President Donald Trump regarding water security issues. She stated, “Last week’s meeting with President Trump was a step in the right direction to securing our water. With the Trump Administration, I am confident Mexico will be held accountable and face the consequences of failing to uphold the 1944 Water Treaty.”
In another tweet dated March 5, 2025, she conveyed her anticipation for Trump’s plans for America, stating “President Trump is renewing the American people’s hope to achieve their dreams. I look forward to hearing his plan to deliver for our country tonight.”
Later that day, she praised Trump’s leadership by asserting that under his guidance, America is undergoing significant restoration efforts: “Under President Trump’s leadership, we are rebuilding America’s foundation. Once a country built on opportunity, liberty, and law, we are finally restoring our nation’s greatness!”
