Rep. Monica De La Cruz, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 15th district since 2023, recently addressed her constituents through a series of tweets. De La Cruz, who succeeded Vicente Gonzalez and resides in McAllen, was born in Brownsville, Texas in 1974 and holds a BBS from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

On July 4, 2025, De La Cruz expressed her concerns regarding the flooding in Kerrville and surrounding areas. She stated, “My thoughts and prayers are with Kerrville and the entire hill country area affected by the floods. Thank you to all law enforcement who are working to find and rescue as many as possible. Please join me in prayer for our fellow Texans during these difficult times.”

The following day, on July 5, she shared her experience meeting a young constituent during his visit to Washington D.C. She tweeted, “I had the pleasure of meeting Aiden Englehardt, a high school student from Seguin, during his visit to Washington, D.C. It’s always great to have young Texans visit our office!”

Later that day, De La Cruz commented on legislative efforts impacting taxes. She noted that “The OBBB removes taxes on tips, overtime, and seniors’ Social Security. @HouseGOP is delivering for hard-working Texans!”
