Monica De La Cruz, serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 15th district since 2023, has recently shared updates related to her legislative efforts and community activities via social media. De La Cruz, who replaced Vicente Gonzalez in her current role, continues to focus on issues pertinent to her constituents. A native of Brownsville, Texas, De La Cruz graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Business Administration.

On April 30, 2025, De La Cruz shared that her team met with farmers and water supply managers to discuss the 1944 Water Treaty issue. This meeting also addressed aid funds that De La Cruz helped secure for farmers affected by Mexico’s failure to deliver water as per the treaty agreement.

By May 1, 2025, De La Cruz announced victories in combating water shortages in South Texas. She credited @POTUS for strong leadership in these efforts and reaffirmed her commitment to continue advocating for local farmers, ranchers, families, and communities.

Later, on May 1, 2025, De La Cruz participated in the National Day of Prayer. During the event, Pastor Eli Lara from the New Life Family Church in McAllen, Texas, led the House Floor in prayer. De La Cruz praised Pastor Lara as a “true man of faith and leader” who has inspired many.
