Monica De La Cruz, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 15th district, shared several updates on social media reflecting her recent activities and engagements. De La Cruz, who succeeded Vicente Gonzalez in 2023, has been active in her role since then.

On June 18, 2025, she expressed her pleasure in meeting Alina Ozuna in Washington, D.C., and congratulated her as the winner of this year’s Congressional Art Competition for TX-15. “Her piece, In America, We Believe, is a powerful reflection of the American Dream,” she noted.

The following day, June 19, 2025, De La Cruz participated in a ride-along with Secretary Rollins and the Cattle Fever Tick Cowboys. She praised their efforts by stating: “This team of dedicated inspectors patrols the U.S.-Mexico border to stop the spread of cattle fever ticks and New World Screwworm.”

Later that day, she commemorated Juneteenth by recalling its historical significance: “On June 19th, 1865, the news of the Emancipation Proclamation finally reached Texas.” She emphasized honoring this momentous announcement and upholding national ideals of freedom and equality for all.

Monica De La Cruz was born in Brownsville, Texas in 1974 and resides in McAllen. She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a BBS.
