U.S. Representative Monica De La Cruz, who serves Texas’ 15th district in Congress, has recently highlighted several local initiatives and community efforts through her social media posts.

On September 4, 2025, De La Cruz expressed gratitude for a major funding approval by the North American Development Bank (NADB). She wrote, “Thank you @NADB_BDAN for approving $400 million for water infrastructure, conservation, and treatment along the U.S.-Mexico border. Last year, I joined @SenCornyn to advocate for sustainable water management for our cities and farms. I will continue the fight to ensure Texans”.

The following day, September 5, she acknowledged National Food Bank Day by focusing on food insecurity in Texas. In her post, she stated: “Today is National Food Bank Day! In Texas, one in six households experiences food insecurity. Food banks serve as a lifeline for many. In South Texas, the @foodbankrgv remains on the front lines, providing millions of meals and produce to families in need every year. I’m proud”.

Later that same day, De La Cruz shared information about Floresville’s agricultural heritage: “Fun Fact Friday! Did you know? Floresville is the Peanut Capital of Texas! While in the district, members of my staff visited Floresville for a series of meetings with local officials and community partners.”

De La Cruz began serving in Congress after winning her seat in 2022 and again in 2024 against Michelle Vallejo. She succeeded Vicente Gonzalez as representative of Texas’ 15th district starting in 2023. Her recent posts reflect ongoing efforts to address regional issues such as water infrastructure and food security while also engaging with local communities across her district.
