Representative Monica De La Cruz, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’s 15th District since 2023, recently shared updates on her activities and initiatives through a series of posts. De La Cruz, born in Brownsville, Texas in 1974 and currently residing in McAllen, highlighted her ongoing engagement with local leaders and efforts to support both community development and immigration reform.
On July 14, 2025, De La Cruz posted about a meeting with Wilson County Auditor Brenda Treviño. She stated, “During a visit with Wilson County Auditor Brenda Treviño, my team received updates on key community projects and ongoing planning efforts. I’m grateful for the strong local partnerships that help move South Texas forward.”
Later the same day, De La Cruz addressed agricultural labor issues and immigration policy. She wrote, “For decades, the Bracero Program supported Texas agriculture and provided millions of hard-working immigrants with the chance to achieve the American dream.
Proud to introduce efforts to reform, streamline, and expand access to the H-2A visa program to deliver solutions for” on July 14, 2025.
On July 15, 2025, De La Cruz described an outreach effort involving a local business. She posted, “During a recent lunch stop in McAllen, our office visited with @BrokenEggCafe owner and CEO Al Treviño to offer congratulations and best wishes on the restaurant’s opening.”
De La Cruz succeeded Vicente Gonzalez as representative of Texas’s 15th district in 2023. She is an alumna of the University of Texas at San Antonio.
