U.S. Representative Monica De La Cruz, who serves Texas’ 15th district in Congress, shared a series of posts on September 18, 2025, highlighting her legislative priorities and recent community engagements.

In a post from the afternoon of September 18, De La Cruz reflected on a visit by local students: “#ThrowbackThursday! In June, @McHiMariachiOro joined me for Texas Teas! Grateful for the opportunity to bring the next generation of South Texans to share their passions and talents in our nation’s Capitol!” (September 18, 2025).

Later that day, she addressed housing policy initiatives as vice-chair of the Housing and Insurance Subcommittee. She wrote: “Access to housing isn’t a partisan issue; it affects every American. As the vice-chair of the Housing and Insurance Subcommittee, I’m expanding access to housing and reducing production costs through my bipartisan HUD-USDA-VA Interagency Coordination Act. We’re ensuring” (September 18, 2025).

De La Cruz also marked Air Force Day with recognition for military service members: “Today we honor the brave men and women who have risen above and served with pride over the past 78 years. Happy Air Force Day!” (September 18, 2025).

De La Cruz began representing Texas’ 15th district in Congress in 2023 after succeeding Vicente Gonzalez. She has twice defeated Michelle Vallejo in general elections—first in 2022 with approximately 53% of the vote and again in 2024 with about 57%, reflecting growing support within her constituency.
