On January 8, 2026, De La Cruz addressed the ongoing debate over health care affordability, stating, “My statement on the vote for the three-year extension of the enhanced premium tax credit: Rising health care costs remain a concern for many in our South Texas communities. The following day, she highlighted recent legislative achievements and funding secured for her district. De La Cruz has represented Texas’ 15th congressional district since replacing Vicente Gonzalez in 2023. She won election victories against Michelle Vallejo in both 2022 and 2024, securing majorities of approximately 53% and 57% respectively.
