Rep. Monica De La Cruz, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 15th district, utilized social media to express gratitude and highlight recent developments concerning water deliveries to South Texas. De La Cruz, who was born in Brownsville, Texas in 1974 and now resides in McAllen, took over from Vicente Gonzalez in 2023.

On April 29, 2025, De La Cruz posted a message of appreciation, saying “Thank you for coming!”, which suggests participation in an event or meeting pertinent to her legislative focus.

In another post on the same day, she expressed gratitude toward the President, tweeting “THANK YOU @POTUS for delivering the water South Texans are owed by the Mexican government. Together, we will continue to fight for South Texas!” This is a reference to a transboundary water agreement issue involving the allocation of water resources from Mexico to the United States, crucial for the region.

Later, De La Cruz commented on the support from government officials, stating, “Today is a great day for South Texas! On behalf of South Texas farmers and families, thank you @SecRollins and @SecRubio for fighting to deliver the water South Texans are owed.” Her acknowledgment highlights the role of federal officials in resolving regional water challenges.

Born in 1974, De La Cruz acquired her Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) from the University of Texas at San Antonio and has been dedicated to representing her district since 2023, demonstrating a commitment to addressing critical issues affecting South Texas.
