The following day, De La Cruz focused on support for small businesses. In a post dated December 5, 2025, she stated: “This week, we put small businesses first by cutting red tape and limiting financial burdens on owners. By supporting America’s Main Streets, we can make life more affordable for American families.”

Later that same day, De La Cruz addressed concerns about healthcare costs in South Texas communities. She wrote: “Rising healthcare costs remain a concern for many in our South Texas communities. I am committed to working with members on both sides of the aisle on a plan that supports all Americans. This isn’t a red or blue issue; this is about expanding options and easing the burden of” (December 5, 2025).

De La Cruz has served in Congress since replacing Vicente Gonzalez in 2023 as representative for Texas’ 15th district. She secured her seat by defeating Michelle Vallejo in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections.
