Rep. Monica De La Cruz, representing Texas’ 15th district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, recently shared several updates through her social media platform. Born in Brownsville, Texas, and currently residing in McAllen, De La Cruz has been active in addressing both local and national issues.

On March 18, 2025, Rep. De La Cruz acknowledged National Agriculture Day by expressing gratitude towards those involved in agriculture across America. She stated: “Happy National Ag Day! Today, we honor and celebrate the hard work of the farmers, ranchers, and all those who help feed families across America.”

Later that day, she announced the opening of submissions for the Congressional Art Competition. Her tweet invited young artists to participate for a chance to have their artwork displayed at the Capitol: “Submissions are now open! Enter the Congressional Art Competition for a chance to have your art displayed in the Capitol for one year. April 18th is the last day to submit.”

In another post on March 18th, Rep. De La Cruz highlighted her office’s efforts to assist constituents with federal agencies. She shared a success story involving Mario Villarreal’s passport application: “My casework team is here to serve you! After more than five years of waiting to hear from the State Department, my district team assisted Mario Villarreal in obtaining his passport.”
