Rep. Monica De La Cruz, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 15th district, has been active on social media discussing her recent engagements and concerns. Her communications reflect a focus on legislative priorities, community safety during natural disasters, and appreciation for local support systems.
On July 5, De La Cruz shared that she had “a great discussion with @ABCsouthtexas about their legislative priorities and how we can work to increase housing supply.” She expressed gratitude for their “insight and commitment to strengthening our workforce and communities” here.
Later that day, De La Cruz addressed the severe flooding situation in Seguin. She advised caution for those traveling in affected areas and thanked first responders and law enforcement who are “working tirelessly to keep Texans safe as flood waters continue to rise.” She also requested prayers for those impacted by the floods here.
On July 6, she extended her gratitude towards HEB, a regional grocery chain known for its community support efforts. De La Cruz noted that “HEB shows up for Texans when they need them the most,” emphasizing ongoing prayers for individuals still missing due to the flooding events here.
De La Cruz was born in Brownsville, Texas in 1974 and resides in McAllen. She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a BBS degree.
