Rep. Monica De La Cruz, who has represented Texas’s 15th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, recently shared updates on local development, immigration policy proposals, and law enforcement matters through a series of posts on social media.
On July 15, 2025, De La Cruz highlighted her engagement with city leadership in Floresville: “In a recent visit with Interim City Manager Monica Veliz, my team learned more about @floresvilletx’s continued growth in both commercial and residential development. I’m encouraged by the city’s plans for future expansion and the opportunities it brings to the region.”
Later that day, De La Cruz addressed agricultural labor issues by promoting an initiative to reform work visa policies: “My Bracero Program 2.0 will extend H-2A visas to up to 12 months. This is about delivering common-sense solutions for farmers and workers! Watch “ The message included a link to additional information regarding the proposal.
On July 16, 2025, she expressed support for law enforcement following a violent incident: “My heart is with Border Patrol agents and police officers following the attack on the McAllen Border Patrol annex facility. Proud to lead this effort to denounce the violence against our law enforcement and honor the brave men and women who put themselves in harm’s way to save”
De La Cruz was born in Brownsville, Texas in 1974 and resides in McAllen. She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a BBS degree.
