Rep. Monica De La Cruz, U.S. Congresswoman representing Texas’ 15th district since 2023, recently addressed several issues relevant to her constituents through a series of posts on social media.

On March 24, 2026, De La Cruz marked National Ag Day by expressing support for agricultural workers in Texas. She stated, “Happy National Ag Day! Today, we honor and celebrate the hard work of our farmers, producers, and ranchers who work sunrise to sunset. From delivering the water we’re owed to a strong farm bill, I will continue to fight for Texas ag!”

Later that day, she commented on the ongoing Department of Homeland Security shutdown. In her post dated March 24, 2026, De La Cruz wrote, “The DHS shutdown is costing the American people BILLIONS of dollars. These partisan games have consequences.”

On March 25, 2026, De La Cruz announced federal funding secured for infrastructure improvements in her district. She posted, ” TX-15 District Funding: I’m proud to have secured $5.5 million for Hidalgo County to expand the West Main Drain. This project will provide critical infrastructure improvements and benefit multiple cities across the Rio Grande Valley. Read more here! “

De La Cruz has represented Texas’s 15th district since defeating Michelle Vallejo in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections.1 In those contests, she won with majorities of 53.3% and 57.1%, respectively.2 She succeeded Vicente Gonzalez in Congress beginning in January 2023.3 Born in Brownsville in 1974 and currently residing in McAllen,5 De La Cruz holds a Bachelor of Business Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio.6
