De La Cruz, born in Brownsville and currently residing in McAllen, highlighted constituent services, infrastructure discussions, and community loss.

Later that day, she discussed ongoing efforts to support infrastructure improvements in the region: “In a recent meeting with @cityoflajoya City Manager Jaime Sandoval, my team discussed water infrastructure and mobility projects that are critical to the city’s future. De La Cruz also addressed a recent tragedy affecting the local law enforcement community: “I am saddened by the loss of Border Patrol Agent Eric Cespedes, who passed away while rescuing his children from the water on South Padre Island. His actions showed his bravery, selflessness, and unwavering dedication to protecting others. My thoughts and prayers are with Agent” (July 12, 2025).
