Rep. Monica De La Cruz, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 15th district, marked several occasions and events through her official Twitter account this week.

On September 15, De La Cruz acknowledged the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, stating, “Today marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month! From September 15th to October 15th, let’s celebrate the histories, cultures, and numerous contributions of the Hispanic and Latino communities to our great nation!”

The following day, she addressed a recent tragedy involving Charlie Kirk. On September 16, she wrote, “Charlie Kirk was the innocent victim of a senseless, horrific attack. Last night, I joined my colleagues to offer our prayers for his soul and the solace of his beautiful family during this heartbreaking time. May God bless Charlie Kirk.”

On September 17, De La Cruz commemorated Citizenship Day with a message about national pride: “On Citizenship Day, we celebrate the pride and privileges that come with being an American. God bless America!”

De La Cruz has held her seat since replacing Vicente Gonzalez in 2023. She secured her position after defeating Michelle Vallejo in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections.
