Rep. Monica De La Cruz, who represents Texas’ 15th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on September 19, 2025, highlighting recent legislative achievements and condemning political violence.
In her first post of the day, De La Cruz wrote: “Billions invested for Texas ag to thrive! Check out the wins https://t.co/RC6BqaodzV” (September 19, 2025). Later that afternoon, she referenced her work with Hispanic leaders in Congress by stating: “#FlashbackFriday! I joined the @HispanicConf to discuss our priorities for the 119th Congress! With a district of over 80% Hispanic population, I am always working to ensure our communities are supported and able to thrive! https://t.co/Pox8FEY4ac” (September 19, 2025).
Addressing recent events involving conservative activist Charlie Kirk, De La Cruz commented: “The senseless attack on Charlie Kirk was truly heartbreaking. Violence has no place in our political system.
The passage of today’s resolution not only honors the brave life and work of Charlie Kirk, but also strongly condemns this horrible act and every form of political” (September 19, 2025).
De La Cruz has served as representative since replacing Vicente Gonzalez in January 2023. She secured her seat after defeating Michelle Vallejo in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections—winning by margins of nearly ten percentage points each time.
Her district is notable for its majority Hispanic population—a demographic she referenced when discussing congressional priorities. As part of her tenure in office, De La Cruz has consistently highlighted investments directed toward agriculture and community support initiatives across South Texas.
