Rep. Monica De La Cruz, who represents Texas’ 15th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on social media this week highlighting her legislative initiatives and community outreach.

On January 9, De La Cruz shared her involvement with new legislation: “This week, @FinancialCmte introduced the Main Street Capital Access Act, which includes TWO of my provisions to ensure our community banks can help small businesses access key capital and are empowered to make the best decision for our community banking sector.

The following day, she addressed housing affordability efforts: “Helping more American families achieve their dream of homeownership is my top priority.

Proud to support @RepHouchin’s Affordable HOMES Act to make building a home more affordable for families and communities by eliminating Biden-era manufactured housing mandates..” (January 10).

De La Cruz also promoted an educational event for prospective students: “Interested in the U.S. Naval Academy? Join the USNA Admissions Forum at the McAllen Public Library on Sunday, January 25, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm to learn about the application and nomination process. South Texas students and educators are invited to attend.

De La Cruz began representing Texas’ 15th district in Congress after succeeding Vicente Gonzalez in 2023. She won election victories over Michelle Vallejo in both 2022 and 2024, securing her seat with a majority each time.
