Rep. Monica De La Cruz, who represents Texas’ 15th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on her legislative activities and responded to recent events in a series of posts on her official social media account.
On January 6, 2026, De La Cruz expressed condolences following the passing of a colleague: “Deeply saddened by the loss of Congressman Doug LaMalfa. Please join me in praying for his family and loved ones during this difficult time. May God rest his soul.”
Later that day, she highlighted new tax legislation aimed at benefiting working families: “Starting this month, the Working Family Tax Cuts will mean more money in YOUR pockets. I’m proud to support the passage of these critical tax cuts and deliver major wins for Texans in 2026!” (January 6, 2026).
On January 8, 2026, De La Cruz announced progress on a bill focused on veterans’ housing: “My Disabled Veterans Housing Support Act passed the Senate and will head to the President’s desk to become law! Though we can never repay our Veterans for their service, we can give back to our Veterans by removing the obstacles that stand in the way of their access to housing.”
De La Cruz has served as representative for Texas’ 15th district since replacing Vicente Gonzalez in 2023. She won election victories over Michelle Vallejo in both 2022 and 2024, securing her position with a majority vote each time.
