U.S. Representative Monica De La Cruz, who serves Texas’ 15th congressional district, recently highlighted local business achievements, health initiatives, and community support efforts in a series of posts on her official X account.

On August 18, 2025, De La Cruz acknowledged the success of a local business in Peñitas: “Congratulations to MAE Boots of Peñitas on their ribbon cutting! My team was on hand to honor their accomplishments, celebrate this milestone, and present the owners with special recognition for their growing business.”

The following day, August 19, she addressed healthcare policy by stating: “The OBBB will strengthen health outcomes for patients and providers.”

On August 20, De La Cruz promoted educational support through a regional charity initiative: “No student should feel unprepared entering the school year. The @foodbankrgv is hosting a Back to School Supply Drive so every South Texas student has the opportunity to succeed!”

De La Cruz began serving in Congress in 2023 after replacing Vicente Gonzalez as representative for Texas’ 15th district. She secured her seat by defeating Michelle Vallejo in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections. In the most recent contest, she won with 57.1% of the vote compared to Vallejo’s 42.9%. In her first victory over Vallejo in 2022, De La Cruz received 53.3% of the vote.
