Rep. Monica De La Cruz, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 15th district, has been vocal about various community and political issues through her social media presence. Her recent posts highlight local economic development, community events, and legislative stances.

On May 20, 2025, Rep. De La Cruz emphasized the importance of supporting small businesses for regional economic growth. She mentioned Star Storage, a locally owned storage facility in the Mission area that recently celebrated its expansion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. According to De La Cruz, this expansion aids in meeting the needs of more families and contributes to South Texas’s economy. “Supporting small businesses like Star Storage is essential to growing South Texas’s economy.”

Later that day, she reflected on a community event in Edinburg attended by Mayor Ramiro Garza Jr. and city council members. The annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast was described as a moment of gratitude and reflection for the community. “It was a meaningful morning of gratitude and reflection as Mayor Ramiro Garza Jr. and the @cityofedinburg City Council welcomed the community to the annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast.”

In another post from May 20, Rep. De La Cruz expressed criticism towards certain Democratic lawmakers who voted against a bill supporting law enforcement officers. She highlighted her unwavering support for those who risk their lives daily to protect communities. “11 Dems voted AGAINST a bill to support law enforcement. Their vote speaks volumes: they don’t support those risking their lives every day to protect our communities.”

Monica De La Cruz has served in Congress since 2023 after replacing Vicente Gonzalez and holds a degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
