Rep. Monica De La Cruz, who represents Texas’ 15th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used her social media platform to highlight local leaders and discuss legislative priorities related to agriculture.
On September 6, 2025, De La Cruz posted about recognizing a guest at the National Prayer Breakfast: “I was proud to recognize my National Prayer Breakfast guest and CEO of the Covenant Christian School –– Dr. Milton Gonzalez. I was honored to have him join me in DC for this special event and recognize his incredible leadership on the House floor.”
Later that day, she acknowledged a law enforcement leader from South Texas: “South Texas is full of heroes! It was an honor to recognize Chief Michael Vela for his 20 years of leadership, dedication, and service with Palmhurst PD. Over the course of two decades, Chief Vela and his department led award-winning public safety programs and community”.
On September 7, 2025, De La Cruz highlighted her visit to a major food processing facility in Seguin: “Great to visit @TysonFoods’ newly expanded Seguin facility and discuss my work on the @HouseAgGOP Committee to deliver for Texas ag! As we head into the fall, I am fighting for a strong Farm Bill that puts our farmers and ranchers first.”
De La Cruz began serving in Congress after winning election against Michelle Vallejo in both 2022 and 2024. In those contests, she secured victories with margins of approximately ten percentage points each time. She succeeded Vicente Gonzalez as representative of Texas’ 15th district in January 2023.
