Rep. Monica De La Cruz, currently serving Texas’ 15th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on her official activities and legislative achievements through a series of posts on September 9, 2025.
In one post, De La Cruz highlighted her office’s engagement with local law enforcement: “My DC staff met with Karnes County Sheriff Steven Bailey to learn more about the department’s needs and discuss opportunities to invest federal resources into keeping our communities safe.” (September 9, 2025).
Later that day, she referenced recent legislative actions aimed at tax relief and housing support: “Not only did we deliver a historic tax cut for American families with no tax on tips, and no taxes on our seniors’ benefits, but we also made key tax credits like the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) permanent. We’re helping builders access more capital to create millions of” (September 9, 2025).

De La Cruz assumed office in January 2023 after defeating Michelle Vallejo in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections. In the most recent contest held in November 2024, she secured victory by obtaining approximately 57% of the vote against Vallejo’s roughly 43%. She previously replaced Vicente Gonzalez as representative for Texas’ 15th congressional district.
