Rep. Monica De La Cruz, who represents Texas’ 15th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted a series of events focused on small business growth and community engagement in South Texas through her official social media posts.
On August 23, 2025, De La Cruz announced her participation in the opening of a new Murphy USA location in Edinburg, stating: “Edinburg is growing, and the north side just welcomed a new addition with the grand opening of @MurphyUSA. Continuing her focus on economic development, De La Cruz shared another update on August 24: “The Pharr Chamber of Commerce recently hosted a ribbon cutting for Cutting Edge Insurance, celebrating another step in expanding small business growth in our community. De La Cruz began serving as representative for Texas’ 15th district after winning elections against Michelle Vallejo in both 2022 and 2024. She replaced Vicente Gonzalez following her victory and has since maintained an active presence within local chambers of commerce and small business initiatives.
