Rep. Monica De La Cruz, who represents Texas’ 15th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared a series of updates on her official social media account reflecting on national remembrance, community engagement, and workforce development.
On September 11, 2025, De La Cruz posted about the anniversary of the September 11 attacks: “Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost and honor the brave first responders who ran into danger to save lives. The anniversary of 9/11 stands as a reminder of the tragic attack on our country and the unity, strength, and compassion that emerged as we stood together as a” (September 11, 2025).
The following day, she highlighted her staff’s efforts to support local law enforcement agencies: “My DC staff included a visit with the @SPDTX, where they discussed a range of federal grant opportunities to support their work in serving and protecting the community.” (September 12, 2025).
Later that same day, De La Cruz commented on ongoing initiatives for economic growth: “Always great to see @SecretaryLCD during the Meet the Cabinet series on the Hill. We are working to build a strong, skilled workforce, expand opportunities, and drive economic growth! “ (September 12, 2025).
De La Cruz began representing Texas’ 15th district in Congress after succeeding Vicente Gonzalez in 2023. She has won consecutive elections against Michelle Vallejo—first in 2022 with approximately 53% of the vote and again in 2024 with over 57%.
