Rep. Monica De La Cruz, U.S. Congresswoman representing Texas’ 15th district, shared updates on her legislative efforts and commemorative messages through a series of posts on her official Twitter account in September 2025.
On September 19, De La Cruz highlighted her ongoing initiative to reform agricultural labor programs, stating, “My Bracero Program 2.0 will make needed changes to expand the H-2A visa program for more farmers and workers. I’m proud of the support we’ve seen so far – and we’re just getting started. Watch more from the @HouseAgGOP hearing https://t.co/kVghSu2ZJA” (September 19, 2025).
Later that day, she posted a message honoring military personnel: “Today we honor the brave souls who were Prisoners of War and those who are still Missing in Action. Thank you for your service; you are not forgotten. https://t.co/IkeMF0IcQX” (September 19, 2025).
The following day, De La Cruz addressed international water agreements in trade policy discussions: “The office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) is seeking public comment on the joint review of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). I submitted a letter urging the USTR to include the 1944 Water Treaty in the USMCA. If you’re interested in submitting https://t.co/vn3yrwW5zE” (September 20, 2025).
De La Cruz assumed office in 2023 after defeating Michelle Vallejo in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections for Texas’ 15th district. In those contests, she won by margins of approximately nine percentage points each time.
Her recent advocacy regarding trade agreements reflects ongoing debates over water rights between Mexico and the United States as governed by treaties such as that signed in 1944.
