Rep. Monica De La Cruz, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 15th district since 2023, shared several updates regarding important developments impacting South Texas. De La Cruz, who succeeded Vicente Gonzalez, expressed her enthusiasm on April 28, 2025, about a water agreement with Mexico, visited a local food pantry to address food insecurity, and announced a celebratory event highlighting the water deal.
Rep. Monica De La Cruz stated on April 28, 2025, “WATER HAS BEEN SECURED!” She elaborated that an agreement had been reached with the Mexican Government to deliver owed water to South Texas, emphasizing this as a “major win.”
At 21:00, De La Cruz tweeted her visit to the new Karnes City Food Pantry, “Expanding access to food assistance is vital for families across South Texas.” She mentioned her role in connecting the team spearheading efforts against food insecurity in Karnes County.
Less than an hour later, at 21:54, De La Cruz invited the public to a virtual celebration, saying, “WATER HAS BEEN SECURED!!!Join our livestream at 9AM CT tomorrow morning.” The event was to commemorate the agreement with Mexico to supply water to the region.
