In a tweet on April 20, 2025, De La Cruz wished everyone a day filled with peace, joy, and the power of resurrection during Easter. She quoted Matthew 28:6, saying, “He is not here; He has risen, just as He said,” adding warm wishes for the day and imparting blessings.
On April 21, 2025, De La Cruz announced her productive engagement with the Texas Bankers Association and local banks in her district, TX-15. She emphasized discussing priorities and her efforts to bolster the local economy, noting, “Supporting our community banks is key to ensuring economic growth across South Texas.”
Later the same day, De La Cruz addressed the global Catholic community by acknowledging the passing of Pope Francis. She extended her condolences to Catholics in South Texas and worldwide, expressing her prayers for the Pope’s soul to rest in peace on Easter Monday.
Monica De La Cruz, 48, earned a Bachelor of Business Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
