On May 1, 2025, De La Cruz expressed pride in assisting a constituent, Bruno Rios, in obtaining a passport after a prolonged wait. She extended an invitation to others needing help with federal agencies, highlighting the availability of her office through mobile office hours events and by phone. She also directed followers to visit her online portal. De La Cruz noted, “I’m proud that my office was able to help Bruno Rios finally receive his passport after six long years!”.

Monica De La Cruz was born in Brownsville, Texas in 1974 and now resides in McAllen. She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Business Studies degree, and replaced Vicente Gonzalez in Congress in 2023.
