Rep. Monica De La Cruz, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 15th District, shared several updates related to her recent activities and engagements. On May 1, 2025, De La Cruz expressed pride in assisting a constituent, Bruno Rios, in obtaining a passport after a prolonged wait. She extended an invitation to others needing help with federal agencies, highlighting the availability of her office through mobile office hours events and by phone. She also directed followers to visit her online portal. De La Cruz noted, “I’m proud that my office was able to help Bruno Rios finally receive his passport after six long years!”.
Continuing her engagement, on May 2, 2025, De La Cruz commemorated the vital role of small businesses in local economies. Celebrating Texas entrepreneurs, she reaffirmed her commitment to reducing bureaucratic obstacles. In her words, “This month, we celebrate the over 3 million small businesses and their contributions to our local economies.” She emphasized her ongoing support for individuals pursuing their entrepreneurial dreams.
Further, on May 2, 2025, De La Cruz detailed a productive meeting between her team and Isaac Sulemana, Chief of Staff for the Hidalgo County Judge’s Office. They discussed financial aid and developmental initiatives aimed at supporting South Texas farmers and enhancing regional growth. She stated, “Our team recently met with Isaac Sulemana, Chief of Staff for the @HidalgoCountyTX Judge’s Office.” The dialogue covered the aid funds De La Cruz secured, along with various county-led projects.
Monica De La Cruz was born in Brownsville, Texas in 1974 and now resides in McAllen. She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Business Studies degree, and replaced Vicente Gonzalez in Congress in 2023.
