On June 9, 2025, Rep. Guillen announced that “Army SSG Orlando E. Gill received the keys to a specially adapted custom home in Floresville,” which was made possible by the efforts of Homes For Our Troops. He emphasized that “Honoring our heroes by helping them build a safe, accessible place to call home is a powerful way to give back.”

Later that day, he expressed his gratitude for speaking at the South Texas Business Partnership in San Antonio. During this event, he highlighted the impact of legislative measures from the 89th Legislative Session on South Texas. He stated that “From investing in education and rural infrastructure to protecting landowners and supporting agriculture, this session delivered.”

On June 10, 2025, Rep. Guillen focused on rural economic development through legislation. He noted that HB 2765 aims to enhance existing programs like the Rural Economic Development and Investment Program and the Texas Economic Development Fund. This bill intends to provide additional resources and support for small towns and rural areas across Texas as “Strong rural communities mean a stronger Texas.”
