There were 29,250 students enrolled in Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 6.4% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51% of them were boys, and 49% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 99% of the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD total enrollment.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD roughly covers schools within Hidalgo County with its main office in Pharr.

Among the 42 schools in Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD, Psja Early College High School recorded the highest enrollment of 2,493 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
