There were 478 Hispanic students enrolled in Triumph Public High Schools-Rio Grande Valley District in the 2021-22 school year, 2.8% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Triumph Public High Schools-Rio Grande Valley District welcomed 485 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 98.6% of the student body to be the most represented ethnicity in the district.

Triumph Public High Schools-Rio Grande Valley District roughly covers schools within Hidalgo County and has a main office in McAllen.

Among the four schools in Triumph Public High Schools-Rio Grande Valley District, Triumph Public High Schools-San Benito recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of 136 students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
