There were 181 students enrolled in San Isidro ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 5.2% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.5% of them were boys, and 47.5% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 98.3% of the San Isidro ISD total enrollment.

San Isidro ISD roughly covers schools within Starr County with its main office in San Isidro.

Among the two schools in San Isidro ISD, San Isidro Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 106 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
