There were six white students enrolled in Valley View ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 14.3% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Valley View ISD schools welcomed 3,739 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 0.2% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Valley View ISD roughly covers schools within Hidalgo County and has a main office in Pharr.

Among the seven schools in Valley View ISD schools, Valley View High School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of two students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
