On July 13, 2025, Rep. De La Cruz reported on her team’s participation at a local event: “At the recent McAllen Mayor’s Prayer Luncheon, my team had the opportunity to visit with Evelyn Cano, President of the Disability Chamber of Commerce. I’m proud to support leaders who are making a difference in our community.”

Later that same day, she commented on her office’s collaboration with county officials: “During a recent visit to the Live Oak County Judge’s Office, Administrative Assistant Shelia ‘Punky’ Kerr provided my team with project updates and the summer meeting schedule for the Commissioners Court. I appreciate the partnership and open communication.”

Monica De La Cruz was born in Brownsville, Texas in 1974 and currently resides in McAllen. She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a BBS degree.
