Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD schools Education: 2 Pacific Islander students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were two Pacific Islander students enrolled in Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD schools welcomed 30,003 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Pacific Islander students comprised 0% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD roughly covers schools within Hidalgo County and has a main office in Pharr.

Daniel Ramirez Elementary School was the only school in the district which enrolled Pacific Islander students, welcoming two students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
