There were three white students enrolled in San Isidro ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 40% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that San Isidro ISD schools welcomed 181 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 1.7% of the student body to be the least represented ethnicity in the district.

San Isidro ISD roughly covers schools within Starr County and has a main office in San Isidro.

San Isidro Elementary School was the only school in the district which enrolled white students, welcoming three students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
