CITY OF MISSOURI: City Earns GFOA Award for 32nd Consecutive Year

Award

City of Missouri issued the following announcement.

Thanks to its financial excellence, Missouri City once again is in a class with other municipalities dedicated to financial transparency.

The “Show Me City” earned the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for the 32nd year in a row. This award is a reflection on the quality of preparing and presenting the MCTX Fiscal Year 2020 Budget (Oct. 1, 2019 through Sept. 30, 2020), and this distinction is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting.

“For Missouri City to earn this award for the 32nd straight year is one of our greatest honors as a City,” said City Manager Odis Jones. “Our team had to meet very strict guidelines to qualify for this award, and their hard work to providing the financial transparency that all of us are proud of is the catalyst in earning this recognition.”

Approximately 19,000 appointed and elected local, state and provincial-level government officials and finance subject matter experts partner with GFOA to ensure and promote financial success. GFOA provides training, services, and products to financial leaders around North America to further enhance government finances.
