Rep. Monica De La Cruz, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 15th district since 2023, has recently taken to social media to discuss various legislative matters. De La Cruz has emphasized her commitment to supporting small businesses and veterans through regulatory reforms and housing support.

On December 4, 2024, Rep. De La Cruz stated her support for small businesses, emphasizing their importance to the country’s economy. She highlighted the need to "remove the regulatory barriers harming small businesses" in order to facilitate access to capital and investment.

The following day, on December 5, 2024, she announced the bipartisan passage of a significant piece of legislation aimed at supporting disabled veterans. The Disabled Veterans Housing Support Act was celebrated by De La Cruz for ensuring that service-connected disability compensation is excluded from income calculations for housing assistance.

Later on December 5, 2024, Rep. De La Cruz shared her excitement over the passage of her sixth legislative initiative out of the House of Representatives. The Disabled Veterans Housing Support Act was designed to enhance housing accessibility by excluding VA disability compensation from certain HUD program eligibility calculations.
