PHARR-SAN JUAN-ALAMO ISD: PSJA Reopening Update: November 12, 2020

Anounce

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD issued the following announcement.

Dear PSJA Family,

PSJA ISD will delay the in-person reopening (Part 3) until December 7, 2020.

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) approved this request due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in our community. We appreciate their attention to the health and safety of our students, staff and families.

PSJA ISD will continue to provide virtual learning for all students as well as in-person for our South Texas College dual enrollment courses and those students who have already been on campus due to connectivity needs. Our current efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19 will continue, such as:

  • Health and Safety Check-Points at all Facilities
  • COVID-Dashboard
  • On-site COVID-19 Testing
  • Thorough Disinfecting and Cleaning Protocols
PSJA ISD has gone above and beyond in preparations for this reopening, and we thank all staff who have played a key role to have our campuses and facilities ready. One thing we have learned from this pandemic is to remain flexible and understanding.

The number of COVID-19 cases in our county has been increasing and the health and safety of our PSJA Family is our utmost priority. We hope this three-week extension will help stop the spread. Let’s remain mindful that this pandemic is far from over and we are all in this together. Do not let your guard down, especially with the holidays approaching.

Let’s set the example PSJA Family, wear your mask, wash your hands often and keep your social distance so we can all remain safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jorge L. Arredondo

PSJA ISD Superintendent
