Rep. Monica De La Cruz, a U.S. Congress member representing Texas’ 15th district since 2023, shared several updates and concerns on January 30, 2025, via social media. Her posts touched upon various issues including a recent plane crash, international water treaty disputes affecting local farmers, and community outreach efforts.

In a post dated January 30, 2025, Rep. De La Cruz expressed her condolences for the victims of a plane crash at DCA. She stated: "Keeping the victims of the plane crash at DCA, their families, and their loved ones in my prayers tonight."

Later that day, she addressed an ongoing issue with Mexico's compliance with the 1944 Water Treaty. In her statement from January 30, she noted: "It is simply unacceptable that Mexico refuses to comply with the 1944 Water Treaty and owes Texas farmers over one million acre-feet of water. I have heard from farmers in my communities, and Mexico's inaction has been devastating." She emphasized her commitment to leading efforts among her colleagues to address this matter.

Additionally, Rep. De La Cruz acknowledged local engagement activities through staff mobile office hours held in George West last week. On January 30, she thanked city officials for their support: "Staff Mobile Office Hours came to George West last week. Thank you to Interim City Manager and Financial Accountant Shirley Holm for your hospitality and for giving my team a location to serve the residents of Live Oak County."
